Question 5.

f. Please choose one passage from the novel that is significant to you. Why is this passage meaningful? Please type it into one of your entries and comment what you think about the passage?

The passage that significant to me is Johnny's death. Johnny tried to save Ponyboy, but he was injured and came to die. Ponyboy got also injured but it wasn't hard enough to touch the life. Before people die, they become generous and ask for forgiveness. They try to say something significant and eminent because they don't have much time. Johnny had same situation like this. Before he die, he said to Ponyboy(:Johnny's best friend. ), "stay gold." and Johnny passed away.

When I look this meaningful passage, I thought that I spend our precious time clinging to something unimportant, worthless, and meaningless. So, I got to think about my past and I realized that I focused on the unimportant things. After I read this passage, I resolute to spend my time doing things or significant things.

I agree with your answer, but as I think, the part that Johnny got attack from the Socs is also pretty significant. Because, later, Johnny kills a Soc, named Bob, because of the fear from the Socs' attack. I think your answer was pretty good, and I agree with that.
