Lord Of The Flies(Q.1)

What is the major theme of this novel? Why is this theme important to a teenager living in 2007?

The theme of this book is that wherever people exist there is society and it can be danerous if it go wrong way. The children of this story are common characters which we can discover so easily in our life. Unlike other books, it doesn't describe children as pure and ideal. The children aren't different from adults in morality. Maybe the author seemed to use children to show society so easily and simply.

The former of book, they made small society and rules because they all wanted to be rescued or alive. However, due to some argument and disaggrement about beast, their governor changed and the society began to go wrong way. They didn't realize they are wrong. Through arrival of naval officer, their act of bruitality ceased. But they are confused very hard. This shows me the power of society.

Question 5.

f. Please choose one passage from the novel that is significant to you. Why is this passage meaningful? Please type it into one of your entries and comment what you think about the passage?

The passage that significant to me is Johnny's death. Johnny tried to save Ponyboy, but he was injured and came to die. Ponyboy got also injured but it wasn't hard enough to touch the life. Before people die, they become generous and ask for forgiveness. They try to say something significant and eminent because they don't have much time. Johnny had same situation like this. Before he die, he said to Ponyboy(:Johnny's best friend. ), "stay gold." and Johnny passed away.

When I look this meaningful passage, I thought that I spend our precious time clinging to something unimportant, worthless, and meaningless. So, I got to think about my past and I realized that I focused on the unimportant things. After I read this passage, I resolute to spend my time doing things or significant things.
